Indian Driving License is valid in Saudi Arabia

റിയാദ്: വിദേശത്തെ ഡ്രൈവിങ് ലൈസന്‍സുള്ളവര്‍ക്ക് അതുപയോഗിച്ച് തന്നെ സൗദിയിലും വാഹനമോടിക്കാനുള്ള നിയമത്തിന് സൗദി ശൂറാ കൗണ്‍സില്‍ അംഗീകാരം നല്‍കി. കൗണ്‍സില്‍ മേധാവി ഡോ. അബ്ദുല്ല ബിന്‍ മുഹമ്മദ് ബിന്‍ ഇബ്രാഹീം ആല്‍ശൈഖിന്റെ നേതൃത്വത്തില്‍ ഇന്നലെ ചേര്‍ന്ന യോഗമാണ് സൗദി ട്രാഫിക് നിയമത്തിലെ സുപ്രധാന ഭേദഗതിക്ക് അംഗീകാരം നല്‍കിയത്.

സൗദി ട്രാഫിക് നിയമത്തിലെ ഒന്നാം ഘണ്ഡിക, 41ാം ഭാഗത്തിന്റെ ഭേദഗതിക്ക് ശൂറാ കൗണ്‍സിലിലെ സുരക്ഷാ വിഭാഗം കമ്മിറ്റി സമര്‍പ്പിച്ച നിര്‍ദേശം കൗണ്‍സില്‍ ഭൂരിപക്ഷത്തോടെ അംഗീകരിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.

1968ലെ വിയന്ന കരാറനുസരിച്ച് അന്തര്‍ദേശീയ ട്രാഫിക് നിയമത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി അന്യദേശത്ത് ഡ്രൈവിങ് ലൈസന്‍സുള്ളവര്‍ക്ക് കരാറില്‍ ഒപ്പ്‌വെച്ച ഇതര രാജ്യങ്ങളിലും വാഹനമോടിക്കാന്‍ അനുമതിയുണ്ടായിരിക്കും. സൗദി ട്രാഫിക് നിയമത്തിലെ ഒന്നാം ഘണ്ഡിക, 41ാം അനുഛേദം ഇത്‌വരെ ഇതിന് വിഘാതമായുണ്ടായിരുന്നത്. ഇതിന്റെ ഭേദഗതിയാണ് ഇന്നലെ ശൂറാ കൗണ്‍സില്‍ അംഗീകരിച്ചത്. ഇതനുസരിച്ച് വിയന്ന കരാറില്‍ ഒപ്പ് വെച്ച രാജ്യങ്ങളിലെ പൗരന്മാര്‍ക്ക് തങ്ങളുടെ രാജ്യത്തെ ലൈസന്‍സ് കൈവശമുണ്ടെങ്കില്‍ സൗദിയിലും വാഹനമോടിക്കാന്‍ അനുമതിയുണ്ടായിരിക്കും. എന്നാല്‍ സൗദിയിലെ ട്രാഫിക് നിയമവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് രാജ്യത്ത് നിലവിലുള്ള നിയമങ്ങള്‍ പാലിക്കാന്‍ വിദേശ ലൈസന്‍സ് ഉടമകളും ബാധ്യസ്ഥരായിരിക്കുമെന്ന് ശൂറാ കൗണ്‍സില്‍ തീരുമാനങ്ങള്‍ മാധ്യമങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് വിശദീകരിച്ച സെക്രട്ടറി ജനറല്‍ ഡോ. മുഹമ്മദ് അബ്ദുല്ല അല്‍ഗാമിദി പറഞ്ഞു.



THE COUNTRIES SIGNED IN THE VIANNA CONVENTION ARE:

The Vienna Convention on Road Traffic was done at Vienna on 8 November 1968. Since its entry into force on 21 May 1977, in signatory countries ("Contracting Parties") it replaces previous road traffic Conventions, notably the 1949 Geneva Convention on Road Traffic, in accordance with Article 48 of the Convention.
